WHY CONVERT TO LEVEL 4

In the ever-evolving world of beauty and aesthetics, staying ahead of impending regulations and licensing requirements is crucial for permanent makeup artists and aesthetic practitioners

As we approach 2023-24, significant changes are on the horizon, with the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP) and the government introducing new regulations for aesthetics injectables, applicable to both medics and non-medics. These regulations will mandate skill prerequisites ranging from levels 4 to 7 before licensing is granted.

Signature Academy’s Commitment: Signature Academy, founded by Tracy Fensome, has been at the forefront of converting semi-permanent makeup artists to the globally recognised VTCT OFQUAL Level 4 Micropigmentation qualification. This program has been running successfully for six years, ensuring artists are well-prepared for the evolving industry.

Why This Matters: The introduction of these new regulations has already had an impact on many artists in London Boroughs and growing outside of that area too.. Several Boroughs have halted the operation of permanent makeup clinics until practitioners obtain a regulated OFQUAL level 4 qualification, which demonstrates their skill set, commitment to health and safety, and infection control, among other essential aspects.

How We Can Help: At Signature Academy, we’re here to support you in preparing for the new licensing regulations. We offer two options for conversion. You can get started today:

  • Four-Week Turnaround: £1497
  • Up to Four Months Completion: £995

To begin the process, please get in touch with us for an initial discussion about your previous training and skill level. We’ll also review your recent artwork to ensure it aligns with the prerequisites required for level 4 qualification. We can guide you through the process in greater detail.

You can reach us at 07980578252 or by filling out the form below, and we will promptly provide you with the necessary details to proceed.

HOW TO CONVERT TO VTCT LEVEL 4

Get in touch so we can have a chat about your previous UK training and your skill level. We will need to see your most recent artwork to ensure it meets the prerequisite as a direct conversion. Note. this is not a training course, no skills training takes place. If you had good thorough training previously all modules should have been covered and that will be demonstrative in your knowledge and skills.

If your standard of previous training does not meet the VTCT requirements, do not worry we can provide additional skill gap training (costs subject to the skills gaps identified). 90% of the artists we have converted were trained to a good standard by their original training provider and they completed our conversion programme within a short period.

Once registered we will take you through the process of compiling your VTCT portfolio of your work, complete and assignment and arrange for your practical assessments at Signature Academy in Luton, Bedfordshire.

On assessment day you will be required to bring your own equipment, consumables, and model for the practical assessments related to the type of VTCT Level 4 skill.

Your Path to VTCT Level 4 Conversion:

  • Qualification Assessment: We will assess your existing qualifications and the quality of your work to determine your readiness for conversion.
  • Skill Gap Training: If needed, we offer skill training to address any gaps in your previous training. The cost depends on the specific skills you need to develop further.
  • Portfolio Compilation: Once registered, we will guide you through creating your VTCT portfolio, completing assignments, and collecting before-and-after images of at least 8 brows, 2 eyeliners, and 2 lips. Practical assessments will take place at our VTCT ITEC training academy in Luton, Bedfordshire.
  • Assessment Day: On the assessment day, bring your equipment, consumables, and a model for practical assessments aligned with VTCT requirements.
  • Graduation & Certification: Upon achieving the practical assessment criteria, you will receive your VTCT OFQUAL Level 4 Micropigmentation qualification within 2 weeks.

Imagine having this qualification under your belt, free from concerns about meeting new regulatory standards. Interested in reaching that milestone? WHAT CAN THIS QUALIFICATION LEAD TO?

A level 4 VTCT qualification provides many opportunities whether employed or freelance. Many permanent makeup artists tend to be freelance and either create a business at one location or to visit other salons and clinics and provide this specialist treatment on a monthly visit.

Further training in advanced permanent makeup and medical tattooing can lead to working with Doctors and Surgeons. This career is rewarding, challenging and financially beneficial.
